Contact Klip

Three addresses, because a takedown queued behind ordinary support mail arrives too late.

How do I contact Klip?

To contact Klip, email hello@klipqr.com for anything about your account, a plan or an invoice, and abuse@klipqr.com to report a short link being used for phishing, malware or spam. A person reads every message, usually the same working day. There is no phone line and no ticket robot in between.

Support, sales and billing
hello@klipqr.com

Anything about your account, an invoice, a plan, or a code that is not behaving. Also the right address if you are evaluating Klip and want a question answered by a person rather than a pricing table.

Usually the same working day, Nairobi time.

Report a link or a QR code
abuse@klipqr.com

Phishing, malware or spam on a Klip short link. The form at /report is the faster route and does not need an email client, but this address is here because a report that cannot be sent is a report that does not happen.

Read the same day. A link that breaks the rules stops resolving worldwide about thirty seconds after that decision.

Privacy and data requests
hello@klipqr.com

Access, correction, deletion or a question about what is stored. Put “data request” in the subject line. Our privacy policy says what we hold and, just as importantly, what we cannot erase and why.

Acknowledged within seven days.

Who you are dealing with

The contracting party is Githu Kelvin, trading as Klip (sole proprietor, Kenya), named here in the same words the terms use. It is a sole proprietorship, so the other side of the contract is a person, not a company behind a company. We think a customer is entitled to know that before they print our codes on a thousand menus.

The service is operated from Kenya. The primary database lives in AWS eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, Germany), which the privacy policy discloses because moving personal data out of Kenya is a cross-border transfer under the Data Protection Act 2019 and brings the GDPR along with it.

Before you write

The questions that arrive most often, answered here so they do not have to be asked.

Not answered here?

A person reads every message, usually the same day.

Email hello@klipqr.com
Is there a phone number?

No, and that is deliberate rather than a gap we intend to close quietly. Klip is run by a small team, and a number nobody answers is worse than no number: it turns a question into a wasted call. Email is answered by a person, usually the same working day, and it leaves both of us a written record of what was agreed.

Who am I actually dealing with?

Githu Kelvin, trading as Klip (sole proprietor, Kenya). That is the contracting party named in the terms, so it is a person rather than a company, and liability is personal. The service is operated from Kenya; the primary database is in AWS eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, Germany), which is disclosed because it is a cross-border transfer under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019.

How fast do you answer?

Support mail usually the same working day, Nairobi time, and never longer than two. Abuse reports are read the same day and acted on faster than that, because a live phishing link is the one thing here that gets worse while it waits. Privacy requests are acknowledged within seven days even when the answer takes longer to assemble.

My printed codes stopped working. Where do I start?

Start with the help page on codes that stopped working, because the common causes have specific fixes and a diagnosis beats a reply that arrives tomorrow. If it is none of those, write to us with the short code itself, not a screenshot of the QR, and say roughly when it last worked.

Do you accept press or partnership enquiries at this address?

Yes, the same address. There is no separate press inbox, because routing three addresses into one mailbox and pretending otherwise is a way of looking larger rather than being easier to reach.
